to extend is

to add

longevity to quality

to allow

flowers to bloom

in the winter

in savoring

after drop

of sacred water

we allow the universe

to savor us

piece by piece

“i would like an extension”

i say to my

or rather

she looks up at the skies

“an extension

you shall get”

I wrote this poem in a matter of 10 seconds, as I battled for time to finish an assignment in class. I ran up to my English teacher and begged her to read it. She smiled and said, “I like it, Sara. Creative approach.” Score. Score indeed.
