adapted from the virtual conversation between k and myself earlier today
k: i’m pretty vanilla when it comes to women. i like a girl i can talk to.
me: that’s always attractive. maybe ever more so than physical appearance.
k: oh yeah, but there’s a specific type of intellect i’m into.
me: enlighten me.
k: hold up. let me read you this quote: “i am not attracted to book smart. i could care less about your college degree. i am attracted to raw intelligence. anyone can sit behind a desk. and only living and seeking can give you that intelligence. we’ve got time. let’s sit on the rooftop at 2am and introduce me to your mind.” that’s a quote i found. that perfectly encapsulates how i feel.
me: that’s quite perfect.
k: and that is a good idea of what i seek in a girl. i want a girl who can think, yknow? who can make me think.
me: of course. you should stimulate each other always. it’s like this thing i read about called the michaelangelo effect. in this particular kind of relationship, both partners sculpt each other into the person they’ve always wanted to be. not necessarily what their partner wants them to be but how they themselves appear. never settle for anything less than that, kamal.
k: you either, çara. for real.
